Hello there Everyone,
I have underestimated quite how difficult it is to correctly release your own record. If you do things properly and legally, it can be extremely lengthy, I now find out.
Trying to co ordinate the legal, mastering, licensing, royalty set-up, codes, manufacturing, design, artwork, packaging, posting and trying to juggle several other jobs is nothing short of a head fuck.
Still this process is now FINALLY moving along nicely. The artwork is finished, and the rest of it (after a great deal of badgering certain organizations and a large phone bill later) is all fitting into place. We are now at the manufacturing stage.
I am hoping against hope that it won't be long now. I am happy that the artwork looks great and the special packaging which I am making by hand looks great too. These things just take time if they are done properly so please hang on in there with me.
Other artists tell me it's only this difficult for the first release, and it gets easier after that.
Amen to that.
Exciting times none the less!

THE ALBUM IS FINISHED!
Finally my faithful friends!
I am very happy to report that the album is mixed, has been mastered and we are now wrestling with the legal stuff and the artwork. Now realisticaly, the finishing touches may take some time. In my experience this is the tedious bit where everything gets send back and forth with corrections and makes me tare my hair out. However, never fear, I will have it with you very soon hopefully (I realise I have said that before) so I am not going to promise any dates yet until we are a bit further along. I will be keeping you all updated as and when.

Studio Photos and SLIGHT mixing delay! (Tuesday, March 30, 2010)
Hello there all you folks, I am pleased to tell you that there are some new photos posted on myspace of our time in the studio. Have fun with that.
There is however some less than ideal news about when the album will be ready. We are probably delayed by a month as we originally wanted our good friend in the States to mix it but he is having a hard time at the moment so he couldn't work on this project with us. So we send him our love and wish him all the best. The problem with that is that we have then had to make alternative arrangements and book studio time to mix it ourselves.
(don't worry, we are all very experienced mixing engineers...!)

THE BAD NEWS
This will mean that the beautifully packaged product will land on your doorstep in May/early June time rather than April time (massive sorrys to those who have been waiting since December)
THE GOOD NEWS
We have more time to work on making the packaging AWESOME! And also more time to work on other lovely merch for you to purchase online and at gigs etc. Plus we are very happy to be mixing and mastering it ourselves as we know the record backwards and inside out and will make it sound double sweet for the listening pleasure of you lots' ears :) I will be sure and keep you updated on our progress! Album tracking DONE! (Wednesday, March 10, 2010)

So......We are all but done recording now.
We did 8 days, completely live (vocals n'all) and we got it done!
The album will have 3 pieces on 3 tracks;

I. BLACK MEDICK
II. BLOOD RUN RED
III. LEAD COFFIN

It was a great feeling, getting all of our individual sounds down pretty much exactly how we wanted them. All playing the tunes together, at the same time, in the same building, symultaniously! Amazing. Couldn't be happier. It sounds massive! We are due to start mixing soon. More updates and photos are on their way.

THE NEW ALBUM HAS A TITLE... (Sunday, February 28, 2010)
..Hello there Everyperson, I have decided the new record shall be titled 'GOLDEN SHROUD'
So there we have it.

All is still well in studio land. Things are sounding swish.
All concerned are pleased, excited, very tired and a little mad. Rose x

We are in the studio!!! (Friday, February 26, 2010 )
..So then my lovelies, After 2 long years, we are back in the very same studio as last album and on this, day three, I am very pleased to report, things are sounding amazing! After serious guitar surgery on day one, I am now doing the whole record with one guitar, which has in it only one humbucker. This is exciting. No choice= no nonsense! It's working out really well so far although it does look like a bit of a FrankenCaster now. Day one also bought about the failure of three of Joe's SIX bass amps and so we have finally persuaded him that two is enough (I can assure you though that I was not in any way involved in the sabotage of said ridiculous rig) Will have some studio pics up for you this week. 'Rose Kemp scared the shit out of me, her banshee wail somehow managing to overcome the great swathes of distorted sludge coming out of her guitar. The immense rumbling volume of her performance was all the more frightening and impressive because it was so stripped back – just her and a guitar prowling back and forth, wandering around the stage like a wolf in a cage, shepherding brain-blistering noise and occasionally pouncing on the microphone to unleash a wave of tuneful howling that betrays her folk roots' - Michael Wallace-Pigott
